Freelance Writing and Video Web Casts for
the Visual Arts Community

Thank you for your interest in my freelance writing services.

You may be reviewing this information out of curiosity, particularly if you have
never hired a freelance writer before. But more likely you’re searching for a good
writer - someone who combines the skills of a copywriter with knowledge of art
    history and the contemporary market.

Whatever your reasons, if we were sitting face to face, chatting in your office or
studio, you’d want to know more about my experience, the process, the prices,
and how my service can help you. Let me try to answer a few of those questions
    here.

“What are your qualifications as an art writer?”

I have written more than a hundred reviews for journals and newspapers
    including: -The New York Press
    -Art Net.com
    -Art Papers
    -San Diego Union-Tribune

    -Curated three exhibitions,
    -Given and written lectures, and
-Written for artists, galleries, non-profits, museums and private collectors.

    My artist’s book essays include:

“What kinds of assignments do you handle?”

I cover the full spectrum of writing, from

    -Artist’s Bio's & Statements
    -Press Releases & Press Packages,
    -Exhibition Statements & Catalogs
    -Artist’s Book Essays,
    -Artist’s Biography
    -Grant Writing

My specialty is my ability to write clear, credible, persuasive copy about a wide
range of styles, medium, and theories from the classics to emerging art.

Clients appreciate the fact that I can sit down with artists, and other art world
specialists, ask intelligent questions, and speak their language.

    “How does the process work?”

The process begins with an evaluation of your project.
    1)        Let me know via email or phone what you have in mind
    2)        and I’ll quote you a price.

The enclosed Schedule of Estimated Fees gives typical prices for a variety of
    different projects.

“How long will it take you to write my copy?”

Ideally I like to have two to three weeks to work on your copy. That gives me the
time to polish, edit, and revise until I’m happy with every word.

However, I realize you can’t always wait that long. So if the job is a rush, just tell
me the dates by which you must receive the copy. If I take on the job, I
guarantee that you will have the copy on your desk by this date – or sooner.

No matter what the deadline is, the copy I submit to you will be right. You can
    depend on it.

“What happens if we want you to revise the copy?”

Just tell me what you want improved and what the changes are, and I’ll make
them - fast. There is no charge for rewriting.

Revisions are included in the flat fee we have agreed to for the assignment,
provided they are assigned within 30 days of your receipt of the copy and are not
based on a change in the assignment after the copy has been submitted.

Most clients are pleased with my copy when they receive it. But if you are not 100
percent satisfied, I will revise the copy according to your specific guidelines.

“How do I order from you?”

Putting me to work for you is easy.
    1)        Tell me what you want to do and who you are trying to reach.
    2)        Send me any materials you may already have, and
    3)        give me the background information I need to write your copy. But don’t
worry about organizing anything-I’ll do that.
    4)        If I have questions, I’ll call or email.

We can handle the entire project via email, i-chat, fax and phone.

Or, if you’d like to get together to go over the job in person, we can do that, too. I’
d be delighted to meet with you whenever and wherever you wish.

When you give me the go ahead, I’ll write the assignment for you. You will receive
your copy on or before the deadline date.

So…why not try my service for your next feature article, exhibition catalog, press
package, web review, artist’s book or grant proposal. I promise you’ll be pleased
    with the results.

If you have an immediate need call me right now at (917) 523-1512,
or email your questions to Info@juliamortonnowon.com.
There is no charge for me to discuss your job with you and give you a cost
estimate. And no obligation to buy.
